MEET OUR TEAM
Our Director

After serving as Director of Development last year, Amber is stepping into the School Director role this year at DLCS under our Executive Director and Founder Elvi Rogers. She brings over 13 years of experience in education, beginning locally at Ressie Jeffries Elementary and later serving as a Director at a public charter school in Southern California, where she oversaw and supported special education across multiple school sites and homeschool programs.
Amber holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education with a Middle School endorsement, along with a Master’s in Education (M.Ed.) in Administration and Supervision. A familiar face at DLCS, she previously worked at the school during her college years and has provided staff training over time. A dedicated educator and leader, Amber is also a proud mother of two young children, bringing both professional expertise and personal passion to her role in leading DLCS forward.
Sarah Kessler has faithfully served at DLCS for many years, first as a classroom teacher and later as the assistant to our director, Elvi Rogers. With extensive experience teaching in her homeschool co-op as well as in our own classrooms, Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge and a heart for education. This year, she steps into the role of Homeschool Coordinator, spearheading our homeschool tracks and leading our Thursday Project-Based Learning Days.
A mother of five and grandmother, Sarah is passionate about hands-on, play-based learning and is eager to help bring those experiences to life for our students. In addition to coordinating homeschool programming, she will continue to support our teachers in implementing engaging, interactive approaches that inspire curiosity and creativity in the classroom.

Support Staff
Our support staff are the heartbeat of our school, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes and throughout the day. They assist with lunches, cleaning, restroom breaks, and provide extra hands in the classroom when needed. They also play a vital role in running our office, helping with student check-in and check-out, supporting before- and after-care, and opening and closing our buildings and sites. With cheerful hearts and a servant-minded spirit, our support team makes sure both students and teachers have the care and support they need to thrive.

What Our Parents Say
“Amazing amazing school . This school is like a second home to my son. He is globally delayed with characteristics of autism and they treat him like family and are so great with him. When we arrive to school he gets so excited and runs to his classroom. I can’t recommend them enough!”
Abigail L., Parent
“DLCS has been amazing for our children. Our daughter absolutely loves her teachers and talks about school all the time. And with our son who is in a special services program with the public schools, DLCS has been nothing but helpful. They have facilitated him getting on/off transportation to/from his program, have helped us with an aid and have been so patient/loving with him! If you are looking for a solid school for your kids – from academics to morals, they are have been the best!”
Corinne D., Parent
